Pronouns and Orientation Relationship
The pronouns on Distinc.tt allow you to chose she, he, or they, which is good already. The problem with it, however, is that choosing 'they' as your pronouns means you are only able to choose 'bi/other' or 'asexual/prefer not to say' as your orientation.
Pronouns firstly don't indicate gender- a cis person could use they/them pronouns and still be cis. A woman could use 'he' pronouns and still be a woman. Same for a man using 'she' pronouns.
Secondly, people that are non-binary (and use they/them pronouns, like myself) are able to be lesbians or gay men. Woman-aligned non-binary people are able to be lesbians because of their political alignment to womanhood. Men-aligned non-binary people are able to be gay men because of their political alignment to manhood.
It would be really nice to see this acknowledged and have ALL orientation options open to everybody, regardless of what pronouns are being used.
